Introduction

Intro screen 1

Thank you for taking part in the social media intervention project.

The DSIT team would now like to invite some participants to share their experience with the press and TV broadcasters. DSIT would also like people who took part in the trial to share their views through DSIT's internal media channels.

We are looking for people from the research project who:

  • Took part in Intervention 2 (a no access curfew for social media between 9pm and 7am) or
  • Intervention 3 (complete removal of social media by uninstalling apps)
  • Are based in London or Greater Manchester/Salford, or are willing to travel to either location

There is no incentive for taking part in the media opportunities, but we will reimburse travel costs if you need to travel to one of these locations.

Before we ask you to take part in any media activity, we'd like you to complete this short survey (about 3 minutes) to see if you're a good match for what we need. All questions should be answered by the parent or legal guardian who took part in the social media intervention project. This short survey is also how we get your consent to take part in the media opportunities.

If you're a good match, you'll receive a guide explaining what would be involved if you took part. We're looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds, regions and communities, so we need a broad mix of people. Please note that being chosen at this stage doesn't guarantee you'll be interviewed or speak to the press. It means you're on a list of people DSIT might ask to take part in media activities. If you're asked to take part, named colleagues from DSIT and Savanta will brief you fully and support you all the way through.

Please note that these media activities are likely to take place between Monday 13th July 2026 and 28th August 2026.

You can opt out at any time. We will check in with you throughout to make sure you are still comfortable and happy to continue. There is no penalty for opting out, and it will not affect any activity you have already completed.

Please click 'Continue' to begin.
