This research consent form will tell you about the Study we are offering you to be involved in, the kind of activities we will ask you to do, and some of the topics we will be talking to you about.

Once you have read this Form, please sign it to confirm that you agree to take part in this Study, and then send it back to [email protected] before you begin the Study.

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS STUDY?

Taking part in this Study is voluntary. Whether you take part is up to you.
If you don’t take part, there will be no penalties or loss of benefits you are otherwise entitled to.
If you don’t understand something, ask questions.

What is the focus of the study?

The focus of this study is to test different variations and understand reactions to new cooktop models.

What will I have to do?

For this research, you will be asked to complete a short pre-task which includes sharing sharing pictures of your house and kitchen and answering a few questions about your cooking habits before the interview/product test.

The interview/product test will take place at a test kitchen in Highbury, North London and will last approximately 90 minutes.

During the interview you will be asked to use a hob/cooktop provided in the test kitchen to complete a series of tasks. These tasks may include heating up the appliance, operating controls and heating up/cooking ingredients.

You will be asked to share your feedback and impressions during the interview.

SAFETY AND RISK INFORMATION

You will be using heat-based equipment (e.g. hob/cooktop, heated surfaces and hot pans)
Please follow the moderator’s instructions and use standard kitchen safety precautions
If at any time you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please inform the moderator immediately and stop the task
A first aid kit will be available on site
You will not be asked to handle/do anything unsafe, but minor risks (e.g. burns or spills) are possible

How long will you be in this study?

This interview phase of this study will be running from 24th - 28th November 2025.

Study Outputs
Outputs from this research will be used internally within the sponsoring company.

Some data and materials (such as audio and video recordings) will be collected by Bryter for research purposes for internal research purposes only. Your data or materials will be shared only if submitted and agreed to by the participant of this study.

In addition, any personal information or direct identifiers will be removed from publications made by Bryter. While videos and photos will be shared as part of our publications (if strict permission is given by the participant), your data will be kept completely anonymised and confidential.

Payment for your participation

As a thank you for your time and efforts, we will pay you £150 for completing the interview. This payment will be issued within 14 days of completion of the focus group.

Withdrawl from the study

You can withdraw from this Study at any time, but you may not receive the full amount if you have not completed the focus group. Also, no new Personal Information about you will be collected from you after that date. However, Personal Information collected beforehand may still be used as described in this Form.
