HelloFresh unboxing experience - project information sheet

What is the project about?

ExperienceLab is conducting a piece of research for HelloFresh on the unboxing experience of their newly designed meal-kit box. The aim of the research is to understand how participants interact with the box, what participants like or dislike about the new box and how it can be improved.

Why am I being asked to take part and what does it mean for me?

You are being asked to take part in this research because you have met the criteria for the HelloFresh unboxing experience and interview. If you agree to participate in this project, the interview will take place in your home and be conducted by two ExperienceLab colleagues. The interview will last up to 90 minutes and will be recorded via video and audio device.

Prior to the interview, we will organise for a HelloFresh box to be delivered to your house at a time convenient for you. We ask that once delivered you do not open the box and store it until the interview takes place. By signing this document, you are agreeing that you are comfortable with 2 ExperienceLab researchers (male and/or female) bringing products that may contain nuts, soy, dairy, gluten, eggs, fish, shellfish, meat, or meat products into your home.

What will I get for the taking part?

ExperienceLab will send a £60 voucher to the email address that you provide us up to 10 working days after the completion of the data collection stage. If you want more information on this at any point, please contact Nina Olesen or Abigail Maddison.

If I agree to take part, can I remove my consent at a later date?

Yes. However, if you withdraw your consent, we can still use the information you have given to us up to that time. We are also not required to remove your data until the project is completed. You are consenting to taking part in the project until it is completion and not this specific part of the research (interview).

What will happen with my data and the information I give during data collection?

A detailed outline of our privacy policy can be seen here (Privacy Policy - ExperienceLab (experience-lab.com), but the main points that might be of most relevance to you are:

  • Everything you provide to us is confidential. This means that the only people who will hear or see what you say stays between the people conducting this interview.
  • If we use any quotes from you, they will be anonymised so that nothing is traced back to you or anything you say. This means we will remove all identifiable information from any data we use.
  • We will only keep the recording of the interview for up to 28 days after the project has completed. At this point, we will delete all recordings and videos that we have of you.

If you have any questions, we would be more than happy to answer them. Please contact Nina Olesen or Abigail Maddison at:

Having been informed of the purposes of the interview and how the personal data from you will be processed and managed by ExperienceLab, and in full awareness that you can withdraw your consent at any time, do you consent to the processing of your personal data that will be captured in this interview?
