Providing us with your MPAN means we can combine customer feedback on the DFS and household smart meter data to understand how people’s experiences relate to the amount of electricity households were able to reduce.

Your Data

Do you consent to Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) using your MPAN to link your survey data and smart meter data and Electricity System Operator (ESO) processing your smart meter data?

Do you consent to your smart meter data being anonymised and stored securely on the UK Data Service for future researchers to use in their analysis?

If you receive an electricity or dual fuel bill from your supplier you can find your MPAN on the bill, usually in a box marked ‘Supply Number’.

If you’re with Utilita it can be found in the My Utilita App. On the Home screen select the icon with the 3 dashes, then select "My energy tariff". Select your electricity tariff and at the bottom of this screen you will find your supply number.

It’s 21 digits long and begins with ‘S’. You only need the last 12 or 13 digits.  It is not on your meter, and it is not your customer account number.

For example on your bill or app, it might look like this picture, where your MPAN is 12 0002 0075 216:

All respondents who submit their MPAN number have the option of being entered into a prize draw to win £250, with a further 30 runners up each receiving £25. The full terms and conditions for the prize draw can be found here.
